This heart-warming picture of Donie and his faithful companion Alfie is admired by many. Alfie who is known and loved by so many in our community sadly passed away on Tuesday. As Donie relentlessly keeps Togher in top condition, friendly Alfie stayed by his side with the occasional bark to get a move on and get on with the job.

He was known for his regular attendance to Togher Church and bringing joy to every child and adult who met him. We will never forget you Alfie and look forward to seeing Donie out and about. We will be placing a dog trough in Coffey’s field in memory of Alfie for all his doggy friends.
